GOOGLE INDEX - DOES GOOGLE KNOW ALL YOUR WEB PAGES EXIST?!

Are all YOUR web site pages indexed by Google?! It's surprising how often the cause of low search engine visibility, low search engine referrals and inadequate web site traffic volumes is that Google simply isn't aware of the great majority of a web site's content!

If you are a serious web site owner and you are in this position, this is nothing short of an SEO tragedy....

We have had several clients with, but unaware of, this problem.

They have well designed, painstakingly crafted, web sites with great content. They have diligently implemented the elements of good search engine optimisation practice and waited for the visitors who will surely roll in...

But the results turn out to be crushingly disappointing after so much time, effort and expense. The limited number of search engine referrals all seem to be to the home page when the site has hundreds of other pages full of invaluable content.

The reason?

The home page is the only page that's in Google's index!

This is often the result of the menu/navigation systems used on web sites - Javascript 'drop-down' menus are a particular culprit.

Googlebot has great difficulty seeing, understanding and following the links in such menus. The result? The menu pages aren't indexed by Google unless there are other 'readable links' to them on the home page.

Ensuring appropriate Google indexing is so easy too...

First check which of your web site pages Google has in its index. Simply go to Google and search on site:www.yoursitename.

Click here, for example, to see which pages of ours are in Google's index.

If all your pages aren't listed, then it is a very good idea to build a sitemap for your web site, linked to from the home page. This will greatly help Googlebot in its indexing work.

Even better - produce a Google Sitemap for your web site and register it with Google. This is the best way to ensure accurate and speedy Google indexing of your site.

If you don't ensure that all your web site content is visible to Google, why did you bother to put in so much work to create the content in the first place?!

Need a hand persuading Google to see all your web site pages? Get in touch...

By the way, we ensure that client's web site content is being appropriately indexed by the major search engines as a standard part of our search engine optimisation service.
